The larger planks were once the interior walls of a closet in the farmhouse, and some clapboards neatly bundled below would make great repairs on the siding. Some of this wood has been well preserved for close to two centuries. How well will we preserve what is worthwhile?

The cast leaden frog fountain presides over this old farm spring. He's not hooked up to spout right now, but may have a future in a spring garden not too far away.
We have a wonderful rope swing at Ravine Falls Farm that was created by Gary Neff a few years before he died. It's high off the ground, and is only checked out every other year or so. It takes a ladder more than 30 feet high to examine the connection of the swing to the branch, and we don't normally have one that high on hand. We're hoping to buy this ladder for inspections -- and ongoing maintenance.
